    Meditation - A Portion of Our Overall Wellness Management
    Meditation is a valuable part of our overall health and well being. After all, we live in a world which is in fact demanding a lot more from us all, because of the time saving developments most of us have access to for example pcs and communications. In fact, with so much technology surrounding us, we are almost expected to always be switched on and at the office. I understand this isn't the situation for all, yet it is a standard theme today.

    Knowing that people reside in a fast paced world places more importance on us all learning how to take the time out to slow our minds and recuperate and refresh ourself. The truth is, it is well known that many problems are in fact solved if we are in a subconscious state or at least, within an altered state of mind. This is exactly what meditation is all about and you also don't have to spend your life living upon a mountain top to realize it either.

    Mind sessions could be entered into at will just after many practice sessions. A lot of people just sit really quietly, in silence and think of one thought only, to focus their thoughts to slow down. It is in actual fact quite difficult in the beginning not to think about several random thoughts, but will come with practice. Many people think about a very enjoyable scene, like a beach, or perhaps only a bright white light. There is no hard and fast rule on this one.

    Others find they're able to enter an extraordinary state if you use an audio recording or subliminal piece. Some will have a background number of sounds which will slow the brain waves from a beta, completely alert state to a slow theta along with delta state. In some instances there will also be messages relating to a certain subject, like losing weight or perhaps getting rid of a bad habit.

    There are some very specific recordings for this specific purpose designed to use technology such as binaural beats which are effectively different frequencies fed to the left and right ears, that together in the brain, form a third frequency which slows the neural waves down, to create an altered mind state. These mediation techniques are often discovered to be extremely effective in many individuals. The reason they work is that the brain 'reacts' to the sounds within each ear, and naturally slows towards the much deeper and slower wave states. A lot of people who otherwise would not be able to reach a hypnotic state report good success with one of these programs.

    Meditation plus Altered States of Conscience- a Brief Overview and Introuction
    Meditation is thought by several people to be a state of sitting on your own on a mountain top, thinking the significance of life. Fortunately, it is a great deal much easier for us all to take part in this process of profound relaxation, for improved health, well being plus an ability to overcome demanding situations. Even better, we don't only have to deliberate the meaning of life. In fact, we can apply technology to help us relax in an easier way. I will explain the benefits and methods to attain an altered state of mind as well as present a few examples.

    The brain works by means of sending electrical waves at different frequencies from one part to other parts and when we are typically conscious, will be in what is recognized as a beta state. However, whilst we are sleeping, or in profound relaxation, we will be experiencing a slowed neural frequency at either theta or delta wave states. It is alleged by some, that we might even have used astral projection to resolve a problem.

    To clarify this in more detail, astral projection is when the spirit of our being actually leaves our body. This happens to a lot of of us when we are sleeping, but the majority of people tend not to recall it on waking. Others of us will have heard of this experience if someone has temporarily died, such as in an operating theater when their hearts may have stopped, such as in cardiac arrest. However, when we want a solution to a concern, it is a great idea to recite the concern before retiring for the night and subsequently see if we have the answer the next morning. You will be shocked how often this works for people.

    Now, even if we do not sleep on it, we can enter an altered state of mind to relax deeply by the use of audio CDs recorded specially using technology systems like binaural beats. They are different frequencies that are directed separately to our left and right ears that then join to form a third harmonic frequency that affects our brain waves. This is a common way to alter our mind state, but there are others as well.

    Some people are avid users of the Reiki system which is healing through the palms of the hands. Most people who use this technique will see a Rreiki specialist, but some are able to be healed remotely through a master of Reiki who can project themselves to the person without being in the same room. This is done using astral projection techniques as well.

    I realize this is a very brief overview, and much more can be read in detailed texts on the subject. However, even though these processes are different, each is in fact inter-related as well and each method involves a bit of the other.
